Sustainable tourism in the Archipelago Sea
One vital source of livelihood in the Archipelago Sea area is tourism. Important is to take into account the environment and the archipelago’s special culture when developing the tourism. The goal is to act in the way that preserves archipelago’s resorts attractive also in the future.
Tourism is a source of livelihood which creates employment and enables living conditions in the archipelago area. Tourists on the other hand expect to find beautiful nature, clean water and authentic archipelago environment.
The conservation of the unique environment benefits tourists as well as the entrepreneurs working in the field of tourism. Principals of sustainable tourism are developed to aid to combine the tourism and the preservation of nature and culture.

You decide to make a trip to the southern archipelago area. You want to travel according to the principals of sustainable tourism. Make yourself a travel plan about the route, visiting places, the means of transport etc. You also need to make a checklist about the principals of sustainable tourism you need to take into account during your journey.

If you have already visited the archipelago area or you are going to do that soon, write a journal about/during your trip. Reflect also weather you were /are acting according to the principals of sustainable tourism.
International credit to Finnish national park
Tourism and conservation are managed to combine in an ideal way in Archipelago National Park. As a testimony, it was granted with an international PAN-parks mark in December 2007. The network of PAN-parks is originally founded by Word Wide Fund for nature (WWF). The objective of PAN-park mark is improving the management effectiveness of protected areas. To a visitor, mark evidences that national park is a high standard resort and tourism in this area supports conservation actions.
