Study objectives

From Kyoto to Finland Proper study material will help the user to learn how to respond to global climate locally. The material gives ideas of what you can do about climate change yourself.

The objective is that the student will understand the consequences/effects of one's everyday choices on climate change and the environment at large, and be able to recognize the environmental effects of one's own actions at work. He/she knows environmentally friendly work approaches and modes of action.

The user of the material gets acquainted with work that has been done in Finland Proper to slow climate change, and understands his/her possibilities to affect decision-makers, companies, municipalities and citizen (/non-governmental) organisations in climate change issues.

From Kyoto to Finland Proper material is a pilot-project that may be freely copied. It has been produced in cooperation with many different stakeholders. The model of the project can be used to plan a similar project.

The material is targeted at secondary, vocational and higher education students. The study material is meant to be used for private study but it can also be used as a complete 3 credit (ects) module, instructed by a teacher.
